Questions before you check

Is the Church Website Check free?

Yes. There is nothing to pay, no card to enter, and nothing to install. Your report arrives by email in about 2 minutes.

Do I have to give my email?

Yes. Your report is emailed to you. Part of the check is Google's phone speed test, which takes a minute or two, so rather than keep you waiting on this page, we send the report as soon as it is ready. The email has a link to your full report that you can share with your team.

How does it work?

First we open your homepage and up to three pages it links to, such as your visit, about, giving, or events pages, and look for what a first-time guest looks for across six areas: first impression, mobile and speed, next steps, findability, freshness, and trust. That quick check takes a few seconds, so you know straight away if the address is wrong or the site is down. Then Google's free PageSpeed test measures how your homepage does on a phone, and we email your report, usually within 2 minutes. Nobody reviews it by hand.

How accurate is it?

It reads your pages the way a quick visitor would. If something is on your site but hard to spot, or on a page we did not open, we may miss it. That is why each fix says a guest "may not find" something, rather than that it is missing.

Does it work if we do not use Churchease?

Yes. Every fix works on any website, whoever built it.

What do you keep?

We keep the result of the check, which is about your public website, so your report link keeps working. We keep your name, church name, and email with it so we can send your report. Nothing about your church is shared or published.

Will someone contact me afterwards?

Along with your report, you will get our occasional tips on welcoming guests and running your church. You can unsubscribe from those at any time, and your report link keeps working. If you ask us a question, someone from the Churchease team may reply to it. We never ask for your phone number.

Can we check our website again?

Each website can be checked once, so your church always has one steady score to work from. If you need your report again or have questions about it, email [email protected] and we will help.

Why could it not check our site?

Some sites block automated visitors, are down, load their words only after the page opens, or do not look like a church website. The message will tell you which, and you can try again.
